F1040SSPR-507 e-file error

'QualifyingChildIdentifyingNum' on Form 1040-SS (PR), Part I, Line 2(b) was used as 'QualifyingChildIdentifyingNum' or 'DependentSSN' in a previously accepted tax return for the same tax period. (value #########, rule F1040SSPR-507)

The value represents the SSN of the dependent causing the rejection.
You'll get this error when a dependent has already been claimed on another tax return.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1040 screen in the General folder.
  2. Review the data entry for the dependent noted in the rejection.
  3. If the SSN is incorrect, correct it, then recreate and retransmit the return.
  4. Do 1 of the following If the SSN is correct:
    1. Remove the dependent, then recreate and retransmit the return.
    2. If the taxpayer believes the rejection is in error, they can file the return on paper with Form 8948.
