F1099R-502-02 e-file error

Form 1099-R, 'PayerEIN' must match data in the e-File database. (value #########, rule F1099R-502-02)

Solution

  1. Find the payer name and EIN from the client's 1099-R source document.
  2. Go to the Retirement folder.
  3. Select the
    1099R
    tab.
  4. For every unit of the 1099R input screen, check the
    EIN
    and
    Payer's name
    fields to make sure they match the client's 1099-R.
    • If they don't match, correct your data entry. Then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
    • If they do match, contact the payer that issued the 1099-R.
If necessary, after working with the employer or the IRS, you can force the name control for the 1099-R payer.
  1. Go to the Forms view and select the 1099R folder. If you don't see the 1099R folder, right-click and select
    Display all forms
    .
  2. Override the
    Name control
    field.
  3. Recreate and retransmit the return.
