IND-180-01 e-file error

Database Validation Error: /ValidateEntityResponse/Response1040Payload/ResponseEntityGroup/TIN: Primary taxpayer's Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) must match the e-File database. Please double check your entry and resubmit your return with the correct number. (value , rule IND-180-01)
You'll get this error if the PIN in the return doesn't match the PIN the IRS provided to the taxpayer for the calendar year.

Solution

note
A new PIN is generated each year for the taxpayer's account.
  1. Go to the
    Electronic Filing input
    folder.
  2. Select the
    IDAuth
    screen.
  3. Select the
    Taxpayer
    to make sure the PIN is correct.
  4. If the PIN is wrong, correct. it, then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
  5. If the PIN seems correct, ask the taxpayer to contact the IRS or follow the IRS' Get An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN)  instructions to get the current PIN.
