IND-452 e-file error

Duplicate Condition: /Return/ReturnHeader/Filer/PrimarySSN: If 'AmendedReturnInd' in the return is not checked, then the Primary SSN in the Return Header must not be the same as the TIN of a previously accepted electronic Individual return filed for the same tax period. (value , rule IND-452)
You'll get this error if the IRS e-File database shows this SSN was already used on an accepted return.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1040 screen in the General folder.
  2. Make sure the
    SSN
    field is correct.
  3. If there's a typo or incorrect information, correct it. Then re-create and retransmit the e-file.
  4. If you entered the SSN correctly, file the return on paper with Form 8948. You can contact the IRS Identity Protection Unit at 800.908.4490.
