SEIC-F1040-501 e-file error

Each 'QualifyingChildNameControlTxt' that has a value on Schedule EIC(Form 1040), Line 1, and 'QualifyingChildSSN' that has a value on Line 2, must match that in the e-File database. (value #########, rule SEIC-F1040-501)
note
The value represents the SSN of the dependent causing the rejection.
According to the IRS e-File database the name and SSN entered on Schedule EIC do not match their records.

Solution

  1. Go to the 1040 screen, in the
    General
    folder.
  2. In the
    Dependent information
statement, verify the Name and SSN entered for the dependent referenced in the rejection.
  3. If incorrect, correct it, then recreate and retransmit the return.
  4. If correct, then the IRS has the wrong information in their database. This return needs to be paper filed with Form 8948.
  5. You may, with the taxpayer's consent, bypass this error by marking the
    Imperfect return indicator
checkbox on the ELF screen, in the
    Electronic Filing
folder. If there are other rejection codes on the return the return may still need to be paper filed.
    note
Making this election, may disallow certain credits and exemptions. Additionally, the return processing may be delayed by 4-6 weeks by the IRS.
  6. If the dependent has multiple last names, see the
    Individual Name Control
section of Publication 4164 for examples and general rules for determining name controls.
