folder, access the
FAFSA
screen, located in the
Educate
folder. Your client can use this worksheet to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA Worksheet will calculate from the tax return or will print with information entered from a completed tax return.
Federal Student Aid gives free help online at www.fafsa.gov.
note
  • You'll need to complete 1 worksheet in the parent's return, and 1 in the student's return. If you completed the parent's or student's return elsewhere, you can add a 2nd unit of the
    FAFSA
    screen to enter the information from the tax return. If you're not filing any other tax return, add a 2nd unit and enter the information.
  • The
    FAFSA
    screen won’t share information between returns.
  • The FAFSA form only allows a specific number of digits for the financial information, generally 5 or 6 digits depending on the field. If the data entry in UltraTax CS exceeds these limits, UltraTax CS will print the number on the worksheet in the format asked by the FAFSA, generally 99,999 or 999,999.
  • The electronic file doesn’t include the worksheet. Refer to the filing instructions on how to use the worksheet.
