Filing 1040 when filing Form 4970 with Form 3520

You can't file Form 1040 electronically when you're filing Form 4970 with Form 3520.
You need to prepare Form 4970 (in the
Non Calculating
folder) and include it as an attachment to Form 3520 when you're completing Part III, Schedule C of the Form 1040.
While you file Form 3520 on paper separately from Form 1040, when you include Form 4970 in the client file, the IRS will reject your e-filed Form 1040. This is due to current IRS e-file specifications.
Form 3520 filers who are filing Form 4970 will need to paper file their Form 1040.
