Use this screen to enter information required to calculate the Form 3805Z worksheet for Net Operating Loss Carryover.
Net Operating Loss Carryovers
Use this section to enter Enterprise Zone net operating loss carryover amounts from prior years. UltraTax CS uses the amounts entered in this section to calculate the applicable Form 3805Z worksheet.

The use of net operating losses was suspended for certain (high income) taxpayers in tax years 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. The carryover period was extended one year for each year the use of the NOL was suspended, assuming the loss could have been used if not for the suspension. Returns impacted by the suspension are identified by data entry in Screen CACO, located in the Carryovers folder. Enter only amounts allowed to carry over from the prior year in this screen. UltraTax CS does not determine whether or not the net operating loss carryforward would have been used had the suspension rules not been implemented. If a prior-year net operating loss could not have been used regardless of the suspension rules, adjust data entry accordingly.
Amounts from the applicable Form 3805Z worksheet are used on Form 3805Z, Schedule CA (540) or Schedule CA (540NR), and Schedule P (540) or Schedule P (540NR).

California sources carryover amount
fields as zero (that is, as having no carryover). If there is no difference between the Total sources and California source carryover, enter the same amount in both the Total source carryover amount
and California source carryover amount
fields.UltraTax CS treats blank
AMT Carryover amount
fields as having no AMT carryover. If there is no difference between the regular and AMT carryover, enter the same amount in both the Regular tax Carryover amount
and AMT Carryover amount
