Screen CAHCCov - California Health Care Coverage (1040)

OVERVIEW
Use the CAHCCov Screen to enter information for Form 3853, Health Coverage Exemptions and Individual Shared Responsibility Penalty, and the related worksheets.
Typically, when Form 3853 is required, only one line of data entry is required in this statement for each household member. However, in some cases, certain household members may have more than one exemption code for a given period (full year or specific months). If you need to enter a second set of monthly codes for a household member, add a new line to this statement with the appropriate SSN, first name, and last name. The second line of data entry for the household member should be added only for exemptions. For the second line of data entry for a household member, only codes A through M are considered proper reporting by the California Franchise Tax Board. Do not enter codes N, X, or Z for the second line of data entry. If code N, X, or Z applies for a given period, include that code in the first line of data entry for the household member for the given period.
Form 3853, Page 2 has a provision to include information for up to 2 lines of data entry for each household member. However, Worksheet A, used for identifying months for which a household member did not have coverage and did not have an exemption, includes information for only the first line of data entry for each household member. Worksheet A ignores the second line of data entry (and any additional data entry) for any given household member.
