Overview
Use this screen to complete Section B, Business and Income-Producing Property, of federal Form 4684, Casualties and Thefts, with California amounts. Amounts that appear in the CA4684PY Screen are proforma’d from the prior year or automatically transferred from the federal CA4684PY Screen. It is important that you report any state-related law differences and details in the CA4684PY Screen.
All units created in the federal 4684PY Screen are transferred to UltraTax/1040-CA. For nonresident and part-year returns, all units created in the federal 4684PY Screen are used to calculate Schedule CA (540NR), Columns B, C, and D. Schedule CA (540NR), Column E calculates from units only when postal code
CA
is entered for the casualty.note
Each asset must be in the same column in this screen as on the corresponding federal 4684PY Screen to preserve the federal-to-state transfer of current-year replacement data. Some columns in this screen may be blank because some assets may have resulted in a federal deferred gain and a state loss (or gain not deferred).
