Screen CACasPY - California Prior Year Personal Casualty and Theft Loss (1040)
Overview
Use this screen to complete Section A, Personal Use Property, of federal Form 4684, Casualties and Thefts, with California amounts. Amounts that appear in the CACasPY Screen are automatically transferred from the federal CasPY Screen, located in the Itemized Deductions folder. It is important to report any state-related law differences and details in the CACasPY Screen.
Each asset must be in the same column in this screen as on the corresponding federal CasPY Screen to preserve the federal-to-state transfer of current year replacement data. Because some assets may have resulted in a federal deferred gain and a state loss (or gain not deferred), some columns in this screen may be blank.
