Configure email notifications for multiple clients

You can configure email notifications for accepted federal and state returns filed electronically on a client-by-client basis or for multiple clients at the same time.
note
UltraTax CS doesn't send email notifications for rejected returns.
Follow these steps to configure email notifications for multiple clients at the same time.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Client Communications
    .
  2. For each client, enter the client's email address in the
    Email Address
    field. The information you enter in this field transfers to the
    Email address
    field in the Contact screen for the client.
  3. For each client to whom you want to send email notifications, select
    Return
    or
    Return / Ext
    in the Email ELF Ack column. Skip to step 9.
  4. Select
    ELF / eSign Options
    .
  5. In the Automatically assign Email ELF Ack section, select 1 of the following options from the
    When
    dropdown for when you want clients to receive email notifications:
    Never
    ,
    Email address entered
    , or
    Always
    .
  6. In the
    Type
    field, select
    Return
    or
    Return / Ext
    from the dropdown.
  7. In the Email settings section, select 1 of the following options from the
    Address email from
    dropdown:
    • Firm
      : If you select this option, make sure there's a valid email address in the
      Firm email address
      field in
      Setup
      ,
      Client Communications
      .
    • Preparer
      : If you select this option, make sure there's a valid email address for the attached preparer in the
      Email address
      field in
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , the
      Preparers
      tab.
    • Reviewer
      : If you select this option, make sure there's a valid email address for the attached reviewer in the
      Email
      field in
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , the
      Reviewers
      tab.
    • Staff
      : If you select this option, make sure there's a valid email address for the attached staff in the
      Email
      field in
      Setup
      ,
      Office Configuration
      , the
      Staff
      tab.
    note
    • You can also mark the checkbox to send a blind copy (bcc) of the email notification to the Firm, Preparer, Reviewer, or Staff.
    • The email may come from
      efileservices.net
      , the email domain UltraTax CS uses to send email notifications.
  8. Select
    OK
    to close the ELF / eSign Options window and return to the Client Communications window. When you select
    OK
    , UltraTax CS reviews all clients in the Client Communications window and updates the Email ELF Ack column.
  9. Select
    OK
    to close the Client Communications window.
    note
    The information you enter in the
    Email ELF Ack
    field transfers to the
    Email notification when electronic file is accepted by taxing authority
    field in the ELF screen.
