Security and privacy of e-filed tax returns

Any information that you choose to send via CS Connect, for example, electronically filed tax returns, travels from your office to the Thomson Reuters data center. The information you send is encrypted with 128-bit encryption and uses TLS 1.2. This is the same encryption used between your browser and high security web applications such as online ordering and online banking.
At the Thomson Reuters data center, your data is protected by a constantly monitored, multi-layer data security system in our world-class data center facility. In addition, only a handful of Thomson Reuters personnel are approved to access the data while the data is on our servers.
To transmit data between the Thomson Reuters data center and the taxing agencies, Thomson Reuters uses the technologies that are dictated by the taxing agencies (all companies generally use the same procedures per agency). When there is a choice between multiple transfer methods, Thomson Reuters will opt for the safer option, if there is a clear difference.
