FileCabinet CS drawer icon is missing

Try the following if you're missing the FileCabinet CS icon in your drawer.

Verify you aren't denied access to the file

  1. Select
    File
    ,
    Drawer Properties
    , then
    Restrict Access
    .
  2. If the
    Deny access to drawer data through the interface with other CS applications
    checkbox is marked, clear it.
  3. Close and reopen the client.

Make sure FileCabinet CS has access to the client

  1. In UltraTax CS, open your client.
  2. Go to
    File
    ,
    Client Properties
    , then
    Advanced Properties
    .
  3. If the
    Deny FileCabinet CS access to client data
    checkbox is marked, clear it.
  4. Close and reopen the client.

Verify that the Drawer icon is set to display

  1. Go to
    Setup
    ,
    User Preferences
    , then
    Misc
    .
  2. Make sure the
    Display the Drawer button to view FileCabinet CS Documents
    checkbox is marked.

Other things to try

  • Verify that you're running the latest version of FileCabinet CS. To verify this, select
    Help
    then
    About FileCabinet CS
    .
  • Verify that the drawer in FileCabinet CS and the client in UltraTax CS have the same ID. If not, then the integration won't work.
  • Verify that the file locations match. Go to
    Setup
    ,
    User Preferences
    , then
    File Locations
    in both FileCabinet CS and UltraTax CS.
  • Reinstall FileCabinet CS. To do this, open the application from the location you downloaded the setup file.

Register the cscabsv.dll file

  1. Select
    Start
    then
    Run
    .
  2. Enter
    regsvr32 "X:\WinCsi\Cabinet\cscabsv.dll
    , where X is the drive letter where the program is installed.
  3. Select
    OK
    and when prompted that the file was registered successfully, select
    OK
    again.

Delete user preference files in both programs

  1. Close both UltraTax CS and FileCabinet CS.
  2. Right-click
    Start
    then select
    File Explorer
    .
  3. Go to
    X:\WinCSI\FcabSys
    , where X is the drive letter where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the file
    zfcumsc.xyz
    , where xyz is your user name.
  5. Go to
    X:\WinCSI\UTYYSys
    , where X is the drive letter where the program is installed and YY is the year of the program (e.g. 20).
  6. Delete the file
    _yusumsc.xyz
    , where y is the year of the program and xyz is your user sign in.
If you receive a
cscabsv.dll
error, try to reinstall FileCabinet CS.
