Request changes to a licensee's or delegate's name

Thomson Reuters uses roles to define the relationships with its clients for Software products, like the roles of licensee or delegate. When there's a change to a name of an assigned licensee or delegate, it changes who has permissions. Request a name change for the licensee or delegate to make sure your application licenses stay secure.

Licensee responsibilities

The licensee is the individual permitted to access and use software in accordance with an order form and has the following responsibilities:
  • Serves as account administrator and has legal right to client data.
  • Manages the client relationship with Thomson Reuters, including:
    • Notifying Thomson Reuters of any firm demographic or name changes.
    • Managing security requirements.
    • Maintaining data inputted into the software.

Update the name on your application license

If your legal name changed, you'll need to request for the change to be made on your license. You will also need to attach supporting documentation for your security.
  • Send your request to cs.service@tr.com and include the following:
    • Your firm ID in the subject line. If you are unsure of your firm ID number, see How to locate the firm ID number.
    • Your current name on file and what your name is changing to in the body of your message.
    • Supporting documentation for evidence of the legal name change as an attachment.
  • You'll get a response about the status of your request from a customer support representative within 2-3 business days after receipt.

Transfer your application license to an individual at your firm

You can transfer your application license to another person with a license transfer. You'll need to sign the transfer form and agree to release your rights and permissions.
  • Send your request via email to cs.service@tr.com.
  • Include the application licenses you want to transfer in the body of your message.
  • You'll get more information from a customer support representative within 1-2 business days.
