Set default preparer and office

You can set a default preparer and office for each staff member so every client you add has the correct settings applied.
Setting a default office and preparer is important if you have multi-office (branch) or office-share licensing. It helps determine which office-specific settings you're using, like client data, print options, or client documents.
Do the following for each staff member using UltraTax CS:
  1. In UltraTax CS, go to
    Setup
    then
    User Preferences
    .
  2. Go to the
    My Settings
    tab.
  3. Select the default office for this user using the
    Office
    dropdown.
  4. Choose the correct
    Data Location
    you want to use to access clients and client documents.
  5. Choose the default
    Preparer
    you want to assign every new client you add.
  6. Optional:
    Assign a default
    Reviewer
    and/or
    Staff
    .
  7. Select
    OK
    to save your changes.
UltraTax CS uses these settings to determine which office you're in when you have multiple offices set up when you don't have a client open or the client doesn't have a preparer assigned.
