Unable to edit PPC documents that open in Microsoft Word

If PPC documents in Microsoft Word 2013 and higher are not available for editing, follow the steps below:
  1. In Microsoft Word, select File. Then, Options and select the General tab.
  2. In the Startup Items section, verify the Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view checkbox is cleared.
  3. In Microsoft Word, select File. Then, Options.
  4. Trust Center screen will appear. Select the Trust Center Settings button.
  5. Select Trusted Location and verify that C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PPC location is listed.
  6. If it is not listed as a Trusted Location, select Add new location and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PPC to add it.
  7. Be sure to mark the Subfolders of this location are also trusted checkbox.
  8. Select OK to save your changes.
If you are still experiencing the problem with PPC Word documents that do not allow editing: Go to Control Panel. Then, Programs and Features. Locate Checkpoint Tools for PPC on the list of programs installed, and then right-click to run the Repair option.
