Error: Amounts not printing on forms (OCR-A BT font issue)

Scenario

If the amounts aren't printing on the PA return, the font file used might either be missing or outdated. Wingdings may appear instead. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue requires the use of the OCR-A BT font on all forms generated by computer application.

Solution

Virtual Office CS Users
  1. Close out of all Virtual Office CS applications.
  2. Download and unzip this ZIP file, then run the
    UltraTax Font Installer.msi
    file.
  3. Restart the machine after installing the UltraTax CS fonts.
  4. Test by previewing and printing Form PA-40.

Do the following to delete and reinstall the font file:
  1. Get a new version of the font file. Download the font file to your computer. Save it to your desktop or another location.
  2. Select
    Start
    ,
    Control Panel
    , then
    Fonts
    .
  3. If the OCR-A BT (ocra.ttf) file is listed in your Font list, delete the file and restart your workstation.
  4. After rebooting (if needed), go to the
    Font
    folder you downloaded in step 1. There should be 2 font files in this folder.
  5. Right-click on
    csutocra.ttf
    , then select
    Install
    .
  6. After installing the font, restart your workstation and open UltraTax CS to preview or print a client with Form PA-40.
