Use
eSignature
with
Organizers

The
eSignature
documents are sent with Web and Web-Print only
Organizers
. They aren't sent with email or paper client
Organizers
. Follow these steps to use
eSignatures
with client
Organizers
.
  1. Set up
    Organizer
    delivery preferences by going to
    Setup
    Client Communications
    .
  2. For each client you're sending
    Organizers
    and
    eSignature
    documents to, make sure the
    Organizer Delivery
    column is set to
    Web
    or
    Web Print-only
    .
  3. Select
    OK
    to save your changes.
  4. Go to
    Setup
    , then
    Office Configuration
    .
  5. On the
    eSignature
    tab, enable
    eSignatures
    if they aren't already.
  6. Select the
    Suppress Web Tax Return when creating an eSignature
    checkbox.
  7. Suppress specific
    eSignature
    documents. Suppress any
    eSignature
    documents you don't want to send with the
    Organizer
    in the client's input screen, on the
    eSign
    screen in the
    Electronic Filing
    folder.
  8. Assemble and transmit the stand-alone
    eSignature
    package by going to
    File
    then
    Print Returns
    .
  9. Send
    eSignature
    documents with
    Web Organizers
    by including the following
    eSignature
    documents:
    1. Individual Engagement Letter
    2. Consent to Disclose of Tax Information (IRC Section 7216)
    3. Consent to Use Tax Information (IRC Section 7216)
  10. Suppress
    eSignature
    documents from being included in the client's
    Web Organizers
    by doing the following:
    1. Select
      Enable electronic signatures (eSignature)($)
      in
      Setup
      Office Configuration
      eSignature
      tab.
    2. Go to the
      eSign
      screen in the
      Electronic Filing
      folder in the input screen when the client is open.
    3. Unmark the
      Enable electronic signatures (eSignature)($)
      checkbox to suppress
      eSignature
      documents for all
      Web Organizers
      .
    4. Process the clients'
      Organizers
      .
    5. Select
      Enable electronic signatures (eSignature)($)
      again if you want to use
      eSignature
      with the clients' tax returns.
