PDF Delivery Password Options dialog

To protect the security of tax information, electronic returns and client organizers are password-protected. UltraTax CS can generate these passwords using the options specified on this dialog, or you can create custom passwords yourself. To create custom passwords, enter the passwords in the Password column on the Client Communications dialog.
If you want to use a generated password, use the fields on this dialog to determine how the password is created.
To open this dialog, choose Setup then Client Communications and select the Password button.

Fields & buttons

Use the checkboxes in this group box to specify the passwords for PDF returns or client organizers. You can use any of the following items or a combination of up to three: the taxpayer's identification number (SSN/EIN), phone number, and ZIP code. The password will not contain any hyphens or slashes, and each item will be separated by a plus ("+") sign. For example, if you marked the
Taxpayer Identification Number
and
Zip code
checkboxes, the password would be "111223333+48823" for a taxpayer with an SSN of 111-22-3333 and a ZIP code of 48823.
The email greeting can contain a generic description of the generated password so the client is able to open the PDF client organizer. Using the options in this group box, determine how the greeting will communicate the password to the client. You can include a generic explanation of the password, explain that the password will be communicated in a separate message, or omit any reference to the password.
