Import Spreadsheet - Step 1 of 2 dialog

Use this dialog to specify a spreadsheet containing data that you want to import into the current statement dialog. This dialog is also used to specify whether you want to create a new column mapping or select an existing mapping.

To open this dialog, choose Statement then Import Spreadsheet from within any UltraTax CS statement dialog.

Fields & buttons

Select this option if the data you are importing into the current statement dialog has been copied to the Windows clipboard from a application other than Microsoft Excel. If you are importing from Excel, select the Microsoft Excel Document option.
Select this option if you are importing data from an Excel spreadsheet into the current statement dialog. If you are importing data from another application, copy that data to the Windows Clipboard and then select the
Windows Clipboard
option.
Select the Browse button and navigate to the Excel file containing the data you want to import into the current statement dialog. The
File
field will then display the filename and location of the Excel spreadsheet that you specified.
Select this button and navigate to the Excel file containing the data you want to import into the current statement dialog. The
File
field will then display the filename and location of the Excel spreadsheet that you specified.
Selet this option if you are licensed for FileCabinet CS and want to import data from an Excel spreadsheet that is embedded in a FileCabinet CS document.
Select this button to select the desired Excel spreadsheet in FileCabinet CS.
UltraTax CS automatically populates this drop-down list with the worksheets contained in the Excel spreadsheet that you specified in the
File
or
FileCabinet CS
field. Choose the worksheet that contains the data you want to import into the UltraTax CS statement dialog from the
Sheet
drop-down list.
Mapping columns establishes a link between the spreadsheet columns and the UltraTax CS statement dialog columns so that the data transfers to the appropriate location in the statement.
Select the
Create a new column mapping
option if you want to create a new column mapping for the data you are importing into the current statement dialog. If this is the first time you have imported data into UltraTax CS statement dialogs, you must choose this option and create your first mapping.

Use a previously defined mapping
option if you want to use an existing column mapping. Select the desired column mapping from the drop-down list.
