UltraTax CS Data Location dialog
Use the UltraTax CS Data Location dialog to select among your firm's data locations that have been added in the Setup, System Configuration, then Data Locations tab. You can also use this dialog to choose a data location (usually on your local hard drive) for processing personal or experimental returns.

Only locations that have been added in the Setup, System Configuration, then Data Locations tab are available to select as firm data locations.
To open this dialog, select the

& UltraTax CS
option in the Setup, User Preferences, then File Locations tab, select UltraTax CS client data or Fixed Assets client data in the list, and then select the Modify Location button.Fields & buttons
Point to my firm's data location
The
Point to my firm's data location
option is marked by default. If there is only one data location (which is typical for a single firm), it is listed in the UltraTax CS
field. The corresponding depreciation data path is displayed in the Fixed Assets CS
field.To choose a different UltraTax CS data location, select the
Point to my firm's data location
option and then choose from the Data locations
field any data location that has already been set up via the Setup, System Configuration, then Data Locations tab. (The corresponding depreciation and FileCabinet CS data paths will automatically display in the Fixed Assets CS
and FileCabinet CS
fields.)Point to my personal location
Select the
Point to my personal location
option to point UltraTax CS to a location (typically on your local hard drive) where you want to process personal or experimental data.The
UltraTax CS, Fixed Assets CS,
and FileCabinet CS
fields display the location (if one has been entered) in which your personal or experimental data is stored.Change Location button
Select this button to open the Add Personal Data Location dialog where you can specify the location in which your personal or experimental data should be stored.
