Define Label Size dialog
Use this dialog to edit the size of mailing labels or to add new label sizes.
To open this dialog, select the Define label size button in the Print Labels dialog.
Fields & buttons
Label sizes
The available label sizes are listed here.
note
- Toadda label size, select the Add button, enter the information, and select the Enter button.
- Toeditan existing label size, highlight the label, select the Edit button, enter your changes, and select the Enter button.
- Todeletean existing label size, highlight the label, and select the Delete button. (Note that you cannot undo the deletion of a custom label size.)
- You cannot edit or delete the Default label sizes.
Label name
Displays the name of the selected label size.
note
- This field is available only for editing after you either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. After entering information in this field, select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot edit the name or size of the Default label sizes.
Portrait
Select this option to print the labels on a portrait (vertical) sheet.
Landscape
Select this option to print the labels on a landscape (horizontal) sheet.
Font
Displays the font size used for the text on the labels.
note
- To change the number in this field, either select Add or highlight the desired label size in the list and select Edit. Use the arrows to the right of this field to choose the appropriate number (between 8 and 12), and then select Enter to save your changes.
- You cannot alter default label font sizes.
Top margin
Displays the top margin (that is, the distance in inches between the top of the page and the top of the first line on the page) of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the margins of the Default label sizes.
Left margin
Displays the left margin (that is, the distance in inches between the left edge of the page and the left end of each line) of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the margins of the Default label sizes.
Vertical pitch
Displays the vertical pitch (that is, the distance in inches from the top of one label to the top of the label below it) of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the pitch of the Default label sizes.
Horizontal pitch
Displays the horizontal pitch (that is, the distance in inches from the left edge of one label to the left edge of the label to the right) of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the pitch of the Default label sizes.
Label height
Displays the height in inches of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the height of the Default label sizes.
Label width
Displays the width in inches of the selected label size.
note
- To change the information in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to set the dimensions, and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the width of the Default label sizes.
Number across
Displays the number of columns of labels across the top of the page for the selected label size.
note
- To change the number in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to choose the appropriate number (up to 9), and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the number across of the Default label sizes.
Number down
Displays the number of rows of labels down the side of the page for the selected label size.
note
- To change the number in this field, either select the Add button or highlight the desired label size in the list and select the Edit button. Then, use the arrows to the right of this field to choose the appropriate number (up to 99), and then select the Enter button to enter your changes.
- You cannot change the number down of the Default label sizes.
