Error: License download failed - firm ID and PIN do not match our records

You'll need to enter your firm's license PIN to download and install the licenses to your applications. Entering an invalid PIN causes the license download to fail and you'll get an error.
If you enter the wrong PIN, you'll get the following error message:
"The Firm ID and PIN entered do not match our records. Please verify and try again."

Update your PIN

  • By default, your license PIN is your firm's ZIP Code.
  • Your firm's Licensee or Delegate needs to update your license PIN from the default. To do so, complete the following steps:
    1. Sign in using your Thomson Reuters Account.
    2. In the
      Overview: Items available to change
      section, select
      Change license pin
      to open the
      Firm details
      page.
    3. In the
      License PIN
      field, select
      Edit
      .
    4. Select
      View PIN requirements
      to review guidance on choosing a valid PIN, then select
      Close
      .
    5. Enter the
      PIN
      and select
      Save
      .

    To view your firm's licensees, sign in to your Self-Service Portal with a Thomson Reuters ID that has administrator permissions. On the
    Overview
    tab, go to the
    Your firm details
    section to see the list of licensees at your firm.

Use your firm's PIN

  • You'll use the same PIN in each application you're licensed for.
  • If you have the incorrect PIN, contact your firm's licensee or delegate to get the right one.
  • If you use Virtual Office CS, you'll need a license PIN for applications you've installed locally.
  • If you use UltraTax CS, you'll need a license PIN for all versions of UltraTax CS you're licensed for, and you'll need to update your license PIN to complete the installation of 2017 UltraTax CS.
