Set up your firm's staff members

You can use the
Main
tab of the
Staff
screen to enter identification, contact, and preparer information for your firm's staff members.
  1. Go to
    Setup
    >
    Firm Information
    >
    Staff
    .
  2. Select the
    Main
    tab.
  3. Enter the ID, EIN or SSN, name, and title of the staff member. To add a photo, select the picture icon and select an image (.BMP, .GIF, JPEG, .JPEG, .PNG, .ICO, EMF, or .WMF).
  4. Mark the
    Inactive
    checkbox if the staff member is no longer active. This removes them from staff assignment lists.
  5. Enter address in the Addresses section. Use the
    Address Verification
    button to enter city, state, and ZIP Code.
  6. Select
    Selection
    and mark the
    Mailing address
    checkbox for the primary address from the following options:
    • Business
    • Home
    • Other
  7. Enter phone and fax numbers. Select
    Selection
    to add multiple numbers.
  8. Enter an email address and website URL. An email address is required to initialize the NetClient CS portal. Enter the email address to use when sending the initial Welcome message. Once information has been entered, selecting
    Email
    opens your default email client with this address in the
    TO
    line, and selecting
    Website
    automatically opens the specified website using your default browser.
  9. To enter additional contact information for the staff member, open the Additional Contacts screen by selecting the ellipsis next to the Additional Contacts field while you're in Edit mode.
  10. If the staff member prepares payroll tax forms, mark the
    Payroll form preparer
    checkbox. If the staff member is a third-party designee, mark the
    Payroll form preparer
    checkbox and then also enter information in the
    Third-Party Designee PIN
    field.
  11. NetStaff CS Access
    : To enable access to NetStaff CS portals via the File Exchange Documents portlet in the Workpapers Dashboard, you will need to enter a NetStaff CS ID. Select the ellipsis next to the
    Account
    field to open the NetStaff CS User Account window, mark the checkbox next to the appropriate NetStaff CS login ID, then select
    OK
    .
