Leading with our values: Highlights from our 2023 Social Impact Report

When it comes to making an impact, we are led by our values, with culture at the heart. Examples of this impact is on display our 2023 Social Impact & Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report. This annual report highlights our progress in key areas including diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability. Learn more about our governance structure, investment in artificial intelligence (AI), Thomson Reuters Foundation, and how we support the principles of justice, truth, and transparency. And, hear how we are progressing towards our climate change targets and disclosures, efforts to ensure equity across our employee and customer experience, and the various ways we gave back to our communities.
Here are a few highlights from the report:
- Our company-wide AI strategy including the investment of more than $100 million per year, over the next few years, in generative AI (GenAI), the integration of GenAI in our flagship products, and AI upskilling of our global workforce.
- The launch of a new Human Trafficking Resource Center, allowing public authorities to access specialized online resources to help fight human trafficking in their communities.
- Sourcing 100% renewable energy for our global operations, achieved largely through the purchase of renewable energy credits.
- Offering a series of Global Learning Days to engage our entire organization in building critical skills.
- Expansion of Flex My Way, our supportive workplace policies, to include a more robust Global Parental Leave policy.
- Employees logging over 60,000 volunteer hours, including over 7,600 hours in pro bono support valued at over $1.8 million in consulting services to nonprofit organizations.
- Thomson Reuters Foundation’s pro bono legal service TrustLaw generating $29 million in free legal assistance for NGOs and social enterprises.
