Thomson Reuters brings Vigilant license plate recognition data to CLEAR investigation platform
EAGAN, Minn. – Thomson Reuters, in collaboration with Vigilant Solutions, will integrate license plate recognition (LPR) data into its CLEAR investigation platform. Law enforcement professionals will be able to rely on CLEAR LPR to incorporate vehicle location information into comprehensive investigations of individuals and businesses.
Relying on CLEAR’s collection of public and proprietary records on people, assets, businesses, affiliations and other critical information, in combination with Vigilant’s commercial LPR database of more than 6 billion vehicle detections, law enforcement agencies will now have a potent new solution in CLEAR LPR to augment investigations.
“Law enforcement professionals currently have a wealth of information at their disposal, but CLEAR LPR brings together trusted public records information and a vast collection of license plate data in an easy-to-use, accurate platform that delivers the needed information from what would otherwise be an impossibly complex data set,” said Steve Rubley, managing director of the Government business of Thomson Reuters. “We are pleased to be working with Vigilant to support law enforcement and their efforts to make communities safer.”
CLEAR LPR, providing subscribers unlimited searches through an intuitive interface, enables investigators to identify the location history for a given license plate, connect addresses and individuals of interest to a vehicle’s location, and obtain images of a vehicle, all through one solution, therefore reducing the need for law enforcement professionals to use multiple platforms to conduct comprehensive investigations.
“Agencies nationwide rely on Vigilant’s vehicle location data and analytics to develop leads and solve crimes faster. CLEAR LPR subscribers will now reap the benefit from Vigilant’s vehicle location data, analytics and commercial LPR detections gathered from all over the U.S.,” said Neil Schlisserman, vice president of Vigilant Solutions. “Our integration with CLEAR provides law enforcement with even more crime fighting power to protect communities, solve crimes and save lives.”
As part of an investigation of suspected criminal activity, law enforcement can leverage CLEAR to research people and organizations connected to the vehicle. Additionally, CLEAR LPR subscribers will have access to LEARN, Vigilant’s investigative data platform, which provides users with insights, including: vehicle location, year, make and model search; the best location to find a vehicle; vehicle detection sharing; and the ability to virtually stakeout a vehicle location.
Vigilant Solutions is a Livermore, California firm with expertise in vehicle location and facial recognition analytics to help law enforcement agencies.
CLEAR LPR will be available to law enforcement customers on June 29. For more information on Thomson Reuters CLEAR, visit www.legalsolutions.com/clear.
